Today I was very fortunate to finally get into a writing room with songwriter and piano extraordinaire Zak Astor. We met a couple of years ago through the Grammys, but were always on off schedules... and FINALLY our schedules have aligned =) It's a cowriter relationship that turned out to be so effortless and organic, and I have been so inspired by our first session. We already have a couple songs down and will be putting music out together very soon!
Yesterday I went to the ASCAP LA office to meet with a my P.R.O. rep. Thank you Maura for all the helpful advice, I am stoked to be back in touch with all the people there! In between all the writing and recording and performing, I didn't touch base with my friends at the LA office for a minute, but I will be back more often than ever before. Here's to pitching and pitching and reaching my current music goals! #KeepingtheGrind
Last night I got to hang out with my Grammy family at the 2016 Grammy Showcase, featuring Alexander Jean, Kirby Maurier, and Blondfire. They all KILLED it! So excited to see them grow and get a bigger, more massive following... looking forward to seeing what's next for all of them. Special thanks to my friend and Recording Academy Manager of Chapter Operations, Nicole Brown, for hooking up the tickets!!! I had an amazing time!
Last night I headed to Chinatown after my writing sessions to support my homie's band Divola. They threw a super rad release party for their new music video, and it was disturbingly off the chain =D It was a nice break from my usual music library, as their unconventional indie band filled the venue with their creative work. DIVOLA... I DIG IT. Go listen at: https://divola.bandcamp.com/music
Got to link up with NYC-based dancer and pop singer NURIA last night in Los Angeles. We have some cool stuff coming with producer Miic Garcia. Stay tuned! Find out more about NURIA at her official website: http://nuriaofficial.com
